Email sending standards.

The rules every email campaign we run follows, whether the audience is ours, a partner’s or yours. Advertisers agree to them as part of every email insertion order.

Last updated October 8, 2026

1. Permission

  • Messages are sent only to recipients who opted in to receive third-party offers from the list owner.
  • No purchased, scraped, harvested or appended lists. No lists where consent cannot be evidenced on request.
  • Partner and publisher lists are vetted for consent records, acquisition source and complaint history before use, and reviewed on an ongoing basis.

2. Identification

  • Every message carries accurate header information and a from-name that identifies the sender honestly.
  • Subject lines describe the content of the message. No misleading, deceptive or “Re:” style subjects.
  • Advertisements are identified as such, and a valid postal address for the sender is included.

3. Unsubscribe and suppression

  • Every message contains a working, one-step unsubscribe that stays live for at least 30 days after sending.
  • Opt-outs are processed promptly and always within the 10 business days required by CAN-SPAM, in practice far sooner.
  • Advertiser suppression lists are applied to every drop. Recipients who opt out of one advertiser’s offers are suppressed for that advertiser across all lists.
  • Global complaint and bounce suppression is maintained across all campaigns.

4. Authentication and infrastructure

  • All sending domains are authenticated with SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
  • Sending volume is warmed and throttled, and bounce and complaint rates are monitored against mailbox-provider thresholds.
  • Google and Yahoo bulk-sender requirements, including one-click unsubscribe headers, are met on every send.

5. Legal compliance

Campaigns are run in line with the US CAN-SPAM Act, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and TRAI commercial communication rules where applicable, and the laws of any other market the campaign targets. Where a stricter rule applies, the stricter rule is followed.

6. Advertiser obligations

  • Offers, claims and landing pages must be lawful, accurate and substantiated.
  • Advertisers provide their suppression list before launch and update it throughout the campaign.
  • Categories we do not mail include anything illegal, adult, weapons, unlicensed pharmaceuticals, payday lending in restricted jurisdictions, and get-rich-quick schemes.

7. Reporting abuse

If you believe you received a message from one of our campaigns without consent, or want to be suppressed from all future sends, write to partners@thinkwideweb.com with the message headers. We investigate every report and act on it.
